Sybir Memorial Museum Day is behind us!
The event marked the official opening of the EMYA2025 conference.
On Wednesday morning, we welcomed the first participants of EMYA2025. Alongside registration, guests had the opportunity to take part in a unique tour of the Sybir Memorial Museum’s permanent exhibition, which featured meetings with witnesses of history – survivors of deportations to Siberia.
The day continued with workshops and discussions focused on topics such as education, accessibility, and collaboration with local communities. These sessions were led by the museum’s team, who shared their expertise and insights.
Participants also had a chance to discover the city of Białystok during a guided walking tour. Highlights included the gardens of the Branicki Palace and the city center with its historic town hall. The narration skillfully wove together historical context and contemporary reflections.
The day concluded with a joined dinner and a concert by the folk band Czeremszyna.
Tomorrow, the official opening of EMYA2025 will take place at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic.
The conference program includes discussion panels, workshops, and debates focusing on innovation and best practices in the museum sector.
Registration begins at 8:30 AM and will remain open until 6:00 PM.
