Last months in the Sybir Memorial Museum were packed with an intensive work in terms of preparations for the EMYA2025. All employees — in addition to current duties — have been taking part in preparations for the most important gathering of museologists.

Coordination of the whole event, numerous meetings with the EMYA organiser — European Museum Forum — contact and registration of over two hundred participants, organisation of many accompanying events, museum’s space arrangement, preparation of public tenders and agreements — it is only a few tasks of the Administration Department including legal adviser and the Museum Office. Whereas, the Accountancy Department, being financial foundation of the museum, precisely managed the budget, conducted settlements and ensured that all expenses related to the upcoming conference were carried out in accordance with plan.

However, preparations for the EMYA2025 include not only logistics or finances, but also creating bonds between institutions around the whole world. Participants will have an opportunity to take part in thematic workshops within the Sybir Memorial Museum’s Day on May 21, 2025. One of such workshops will be dedicated to an international cooperation. It will be led by people who deal with building relations with foreign institutions on a daily basis. This meeting will make a space for networking and looking for new forms of cooperation between museums of similar profiles from various parts of the world.
