From 21 to 25 May, 2025, the city of Białystok will become the European capital of museology. Here the annual conference and the awards ceremony of the European Museum of the Year 2025 (EMYA) will be held.
The conference is organized by the European Museum Forum (EMF) and hosted by the Sybir Memorial Museum, winner of the Council of Europe Museum Prize 2024. This event will bring the EMYA community together, including former candidates, nominees or winners of the EMYA2025, as well as partners and experts from the museum sector. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in inspiring panel discussions, workshops, and debates focused on innovations and best practices in the museum sector.
The conference will also introduce forty two museums nominated for the EMYA2025 from eighteen countries by presenting their achievements. One of the most important aim of the conference will be developing innovative strategies facing contemporary challenges and providing spaces for dialogue and education for the community.
We invite you to Białystok – a place where memory, history, and modernity come together to inspire the future of museums.
