Moreover, the EMYA2025 is not only an opportunity for taking part in the event and exploring the city of Białystok, but also an invitation to visit the entire Podlasie region — one of the most breathtaking and unique regions of Poland.
The Podlasie region fascinates with its richness of nature, culture and… peace. It is a region of large areas of forests, rivers and thriving meadows. You can explore the Białowieża Forest there, which is the last of the primeval forests in Europe headed by an impressive European bison (żubr). It is also a region of the Biebrza National Park — the biggest national park in Poland, pure delight for birds and nature lovers.
The Podlaskie Voivodeship is also ethnically and culturally most diverse from all voivodeships. Next to the Catholics, there is the biggest community of the Orthodox Christians. We can also find there the oldest mosque in Poland: in the Kruszyniany village inhabited by Polish Tatars. Traces of multicultural history are contained in customs, art, and architecture or local cuisine. The Jews community and Lithuanian or Belarusian minorities living here create an exceptional borderland cultural richness. While exploring the Podlasie region, you can visit picturesque wooden villages and enjoy natural flavours of local cuisine.
